Wake
Chanou, Eric and I went to the long-awaited opera written by one of our favourite authors last night. It was similar to most of his books in that it was made up of a series of interlocking stories. Cleverly done. When we went in we somehow managed to accidentally wander backstage and heard someone singing a rather frighteningly high tone ladder. We had seats in the front row of the balcony, perfect to see all the action both on stage and on the screens behind. The opera was written to commemorate the firework disaster in Enschede which happened on the 13th of May 2000 but wasn't specifically 'about' this incident, it was more about the impact a sudden dramatic incident has on all the lives affected by it.
