And here's a 'naked' pic for those who have no idea what they're supposed to be seeing in the first photo. It's an ingenious system to allow you to read 'hands free'.

Best use is for combined reading and eating/drinking. It's great to have your hands free for these activities. Also if you want to type some quotes from a book it's handy to have it held open next to your computer. It doesn't work so well if you're actually lying on your back (I mean flat, without a pile of pillows propping you up)and I'm also not totally convinced of the lying on your side stability. But it's definitely a useful 'book accessory'. I'm sure recipe readers could add even more success stories but I don't read such things myself so I couldn't possibly comment on this aspect of kitchen use.
