Birthday in Bath

Janneke had a Significant Birthday on the 22nd.

We started the day in the modern version of the Roman Baths, enjoying the various pools and steam rooms of the Spa. Best bit was the open air rooftop pool with views over the city. We'd booked a table in the Pump Rooms for 2.30pm. Before this we sat in the sun watching various buskers and reading and eating ice cream.

In the evening Martin Shaw was on at the theatre and we got the last 2 seats up in the gallery behind a row of foreign students who added a second level of entertainment as they gasped at some of the things that were happening on stage.

And so to bed. Posing in our Austenesque nighties we had to try hard to pull a serious face as of course taking photographs in those days were serious occasions. (Ok, ok, there weren't any cameras in Jane Austen's day, I know, I know. Poetic license then.)
