Thunderclouds

Ok these photos were actually taken a week ago but I suspect another similarly dramatic thunderstorm is on its way tonight.

Dyed curtains

Since acquiring the rooms downstairs when Sabine moved out the other week I've dyed the old faded pinkyred velvet curtains I had with a grey dye in the hope of getting them to a shade that would go with the one darker-painted wall.  I'll admit to being very smug about the result.

Forgot to take any photos on Friday when Janneke and I were at a lunchtime meeting arranged by the publishers Nieuwe Amsterdam, so here are the contents of our 'goodie bag'.

Too big to find a place for in Bedsit Land. (And past their best - the cardboard Great Danes still bore some flying slavers from the days when they were in the shop with Campbell.) The shoe rack was a good idea but in practise it needed to be fixed to the door at various points with tape and the heavier boots pushed it away from its moorings. I think it only works for the daintier sorts of shoes.
