An hour later all 17 horses were transferred to their summer holiday address, a field in nearby Leersum. Every year I mean to go along to see them being loaded up and let loose and this year I finally did so. I was surprised at how easy and quick it was to load them into the horsevan. It was a beautiful evening and the horses all kicked up their heels and had a good run about as soon as their feet hit the grass. Freedom!
